Canadian Folk Music Award Nomination!

Guess what?!

The Kerplunks have been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Children's Album of the Year! This is the same award we won in 2008 when we got to go to St. John's Newfoundland. Boy that was fun!

This time we get to go to Gatineau Quebec! That's right next door to our nation's capital Ottawa! Check out the other fantastic nominees HERE.

We're really excited. We love our job. We feel the love, big time.

Summer of FUN!

Wow friends, this has been the craziest summer! The Kerplunks are done flying around the globe for our summer 09 tour and are back, ready to generate some fun for the fall/winter/spring!

As you can see from this photo, The Kerplunks were seriously rockin the beach scene. This is our guitarist Aaron (Catman) Cadwaladr taking a moment between ear-splitting, shredding guitar riffs to rock the vocals with his wireless kelp mic. This epochal moment took place on North Beach in the Haida Gwaii (Edge of the World festival). We also played the Midsummer Music Festival in Smithers and the Winnipeg Folk Fest. We did lots of flying and our arms are very tired!

Fun in the Sun!

The Kerplunks are so excited to have some fun shows coming up this July!


Winnipeg Folk Festival, three shows! We'll be playing at the Chickadee Big Top Stage :
Fri July 10~12:45-1:30
Sat July 11~4:45-5:30
Sun July 12~2:30-3:00
Sun July 12~CD signing 3:45pm at the CD tent

Right when we get home, we get to go right to the Duncan Cowichan Festival
Tuesday July 14
We play on the Main Stage at 6:30. We'll have CDs for sale
and will also have our t-shirts there as well!

Really looking forward to The Dancing Man Music Festival on Gabriola Island!

Canada Day a smash sucess!!

The Kerplunks have been added to the Nanaimo WALK OF FAME!!!! This image courtesy of Dick Jung, organizer for the 2009 Canada Day Celebrations! There were thousands of people there and the biggest cake we have EVER seen...! We are so honored to be part of these great celebrations! Nanaimo Rocks!

CD Release Parties SMASH HIT!

Hey Everyone!! Our CD Release Parties were a HUGE amount of fun and success! Thank you to everyone who came and supported us and helped out. We are feeling the love, BIG TIME! So many people went home with our new CD Walk On along with t-shirts, stickers and tattoos and many folks have given us rave reviews. Thanks!

We just posted a new song on our MySpace page! Plus, check out our YouTube site to see us performing one of our new songs, Dino Rap LIVE from the Gabriola Island Community Hall. So much fun!
